Gathering is thrilled to participate in Contemporary Art Now for the second time with a presentation of works made by Shuyi Cao and Jamie Bragg.

Shuyi Cao is a New York-based artist whose practice explores alchemical approaches to material, matter and knowledge osmosis. For CAN Art Fair, Cao used materials sourced from the beach, Salines, after which the work was titled. The artist says the work is a “quiet snapshot of Ibiza’s evolving ecosystem, one that feels increasingly artificial, curated, and dislocated from its natural rhythms.”

Predominantly working as a painter, Jamie Bragg seeks to explore the intersection between photographic and analogue modes of image-making. His paintings intricately blend quotidian subject matter with personal experience, splicing together individual and collective memories to capture the tender intricacies of mundane life.
